as a wedding photographer...i love photographing a fresh love story-watching a couple start out-fresh new love... how exciting and romantic! hearing the love story from a couple that's been together for quite some time... that is heart warming, inspiring... just plain lovely! dave and debbie celebrated 37 years of marriage this year... and still look at eachother like they're madly in love. because they are. i'd love to share a few images from their session along with just a few lines from the letters they exchanged that night.

'When we began our love journey almost 40 years ago, I felt like I was the luckiest girl alive to have captured your eye and your heart.

It was effortless being around you... you made me laugh, you made me feel special, you were kind and giving... you made it so easy to like you. Contrary to urban legend, I was secretly hoping you would pick me and love me and spend the rest of your life with me...

Thank you for asking me to be your wife-I couldn't have dreamt of a better gift than growing together with you all these years. Love Debbie.'

'What a priviledge it is for me to reflect on our years together. We've savoured some of the best times that two people could ever enjoy.

There's also been some tough times that we've had to navigate.

The blending of all these life experiences has resulted in a deep love that only true soul mates can know. I don't know what's beyond the next curve in the road but I know I want to walk there with you.

I'll love you forever, Dave.'

i met with dave and debbie at a location that now has a very special place in their hearts. we had a quiet evening along the lake together and chatted about how they met... we talked a little about love, life....the pursuit of a great marriage. we also had a video camera going-here's just a small film of their session...
recently, while attending a conference, the speeaker-a photographer- had talked about how being photographed with someone is indeed an act of love-wanting to hold on to that memory, remember that person. i couldn't agree more... we also want help create not just some lovely images but an experience that celebrates love no matter how long you've been together. new love... old love-it's all beautiful.
beloved: a person who is loved by someone. held dear.
what you just viewed is something we call a beloved session. these sessions are best described as a way to rekindle love, a place to remember why you fell in love. in the busy-ness of life... the beloved experience at our studio...is a time out- to tell the one you care about just how much you love them.
i have a few more beloved sessions to share with you...so please visit again soon!
*special thanks to mike for sharing this personal film project
