'We hang out, we help one another, we tell one another our worst fears and biggest secrets, and then just like real sisters, we listen and don't judge.” -Adriana Trigiani
their story...? they met in grade 7 and continued on in the french program at highschool. ellen moved across the country to victoria almost two years ago. they've managed to stay connected and have enjoyed the last two march breaks together. spend 5 minutes with them and they'll have you giggling. everyone needs a girlfriend like this...
i've collected some really great experiences as a photographer... met some really cool people. i think it's because even if one is not really into photography, people are always wanting to talk or know more about it. wanting to hear the stories...how business is... what's goin' on in the industry.
and this is how i met eleanor. an engineer from BC.
she had been invited by a friend to view a wedding that was posted on my blog-from that day forward she has been following my posts, commenting on facebook and then she sent me the most encouraging letter. this continued and after a few years of writing, eleanor said she was coming to ontario and wondered how far i was from oakville. just a stone's throw. she asked if i wanted to meet her in person...if we could have coffee. not a chance...you'll come stay with me and i'll tour you about niagara. her dad joined us for the day... smart, protective father that he is. after he decided i wasn't a lunatic he went back to Oakville and we continued touring Twenty Valley.
we even managed to squeeze in a (pretty woman) session of her very own in the studio.
eleanor continues to study engineering and already a leader in her industry with her involvement in a women's engineering group. she sets out to inspire. she also has a business on the side-you can check it out here and it will explain why she called this little place 'stitch' (located in Jordan)... heaven.
eleanor, you did get me in trouble with my boy though. we've been talking about his 16th birthday trip-a tradition in our home-and he's been thinking about California. he has a friend there. our exchange went a little like this:
how do you have a friend in Cali?
'well, i accidentally texted this person and we became fb friends and we chat every once in awhile.'
i frowned with disapproval and gave him the lecture on internet safety...blah blah blah.
'mom... what about eleanor. you invited her to stay in our home after meeting on facebook...'
the only reasonable response i could possibly give...
ummmm...i'm the parent... i can do what i want. you're the child... (continue to rant about internet safety here).
eleanor...i have more to show you in niagara-come back again soon!
happy tuesday friends and thanks for stopping by!
what i admire most about sushma is her courage... and her on going exploration of who she is. life is a journey.
'sink or swim baby...this is it...'
sushma...i'm so grateful that our paths crossed!
happy monday friends! it was a lovely start to the week with 2 pretty woman sessions in the studio today! before i show you those, i need to share with you a few sessions i photographed for TRU vitality and Allure. The duo chose 3 gals to celebrate with treatments, a make over and a mini pretty woman session -celebrating authentic, beautiful women.
i'd like you to meet marjie... take a minute to listen to marjie's story told by Drive films and then check out the stills from her session just outside of the TRU viatality clinic in Yorkville, Toronto.
for some it's tradition for the bride and groom to exchange a gift on the morning of the wedding. sometimes it's jewlery-something that will become an heirloom...sometimes it's pictures. our brides love the pretty woman/boudoir sessions and are gifting a collection of images to their soon to be hubbies. the lovely sarah surprised aaron with an album this weekend...
here are a handful from sarah's session... we won't show the boudoir images...they're for aaron's eyes only!
