greg was so excited to call and arrange a lovely surprise for his sweet jennifer-i've had the pleasure of photographing these two together and they are adorable! it was just before christmas and greg had the perfect gift idea... a pretty woman session is just what she needed to celebrate her new look!

jennifer had just had her braces taken off after an 18 month process of repairing her jaw. she had agreed to the surgery that years ago would have left her jaw wired shut for 6 months... with medical advances it would now only be 10 days and says she'd do it all over again! following the surgery jen would wear braces and to celebrate the new look we photographed her in the studio last week during one of our pretty woman sessions!
so glad that we've met, jennifer-you have a great story and a beautiful smile!
we went on a hunt for orchard blooms-the season has almost passed but we found a great little place to end our engagement extravaganza in niagara-on-the-lake with cathy and phil.

i call it an extravaganza because it was quite an adventurous morning... and we're making a film-come back next week to see the 'trailer'!
have a great sunday!

last friday the studio was busy with pretty woman sessions. these sessions are a partnership between allure hair and makeup and nwp to offer women-of all ages, celebrating all kinds of awesomeness-photography sessions to mark this time in their life. it could be a birthday, weight loss, a really great accomplishment, graduation...or maybe because you're the one with the camera all the time and it should be your turn. here's just a teaser from last week.... come back soon and read jennifer's story and view a few more pictures from her pretty woman session!

happy monday!
stumbled across this TEDTalk from David Griffin-the photo director at National Geographic-and thought you might enjoy.
a photographer's job is so much more than snapping a pretty picture-an excellent image should tell also story. i've often gone into situations not knowing what the story is going to be and the outcome is always a pleasant surprise. David talks about the power of photo journalism... especially pay attention at to the story that develops at 12:12... amazing!

remember how it was warm and sunshiny out a few days ago? it was a good run of perfect spring weather and i enjoyed a night out in niagara on the lake with bryan and amanda and their lovely puppy charlie.
i know... the engagement session is not about the puppy-but charlie is so adorable i can't stand it!

congratulations bryan and amanda-looking forward to celebrating with you next summer!
just a reminder that when booking your engagement session or planning your wedding day itinerary-the best time for photography as far as lighting goes is early morning or early evening. looking forward to sharing a few more engagement sessions with you over the next few weeks! we have a few save the date films coming up and mike has been in Las Vegas at the NAB show keeping up with the latest in the cinema industry. see you again soon!
